I am a mother of twin girls, one of whom has Angelman Syndrome which is a neuro-genetic disorder that causes global developmental delays. Specific to this group, people with AS are generally nonverbal or gain about 50 words closer to the age of seven. As an educator and doctoral student at ISU, I am interested in learning more about how to teach literacy skills to my pre-school aged daughter.
