Speaker Bio
Dr. Charity Rowland
Dr. Rowland’s research involves the assessment and education of individuals with severe disabilities, especially people without speech. Her work seeks to include parents equally with professionals in the assessment of their children. Her online assessment and community of practice are available in multiple languages to people around the world.

Dr. Emily D. Quinn
Emily D. Quinn, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is a certified speech-language pathologist and clinician-scientist. Her research is focused on optimizing language interventions for children with language impairments and neurodevelopmental disabilities. She has expertise in caregiver-implemented interventions, telehealth and distance education, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

Dr. Kristi Atkins
Kristi Atkins, EdD, CCC-SLP is an associate professor and speech-language pathologist at the Institute on Development and Disability at Oregon Health & Science University. She works on pediatric interdisciplinary diagnostic teams in the Autism, Hearing Loss, and Developmental Evaluation clinics. Her research interests include developmental outcomes and service utilization for young children at increased risk of experiencing delays and improving interventions for children with significant neurodevelopmental differences.

Alexandria Cook
Alexandria has a B.A. in psychology and is currently a research assistant Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) and the Chief Operating Officer of the Communication Matrix Foundation. She has worked as a research assistant, librarian’s assistant, and a counselor at a camp for teens with autism. Her research interests include motivational, educational, and neurological development of children of all ages and developmental capabilities.
